WordCamp ATL 2019 Comes to an End

Y’all blew this one out of the water!

Thank you to everyone that helped make WordCamp ATL 2019 an amazing event. To all of the attendees, volunteers, speakers, sponsors, organizers, venues, and vendors…we couldn’t do this without you!

Also, kudos to everyone who contributed their wisdom and ideas on the Tips & Tricks Board.

This weekend is another reminder that WordPress is so much more than a platform, it’s a community and lifestyle.

We encourage you to:

  • take some time for yourself in the next week to sit and digest everything from this weekend.
  • make a point to reach out to the new connections you’ve made and stay in touch over time.
  • put into action some of the ideas you had or wrote down.
  • check out your local WordPress Meetup for continued in-person opportunities to learn and share.
  • get some sleep!

We hope you all enjoyed yourself and we look forward to seeing you next year.

Mingle!

The WordCamp experience isn’t just about the sessions. We learn almost as much by chatting with folks in the classrooms, the lobby, or in the food line. Here, even introverts ask each other about their specialties, and end up swapping contact info. You never know what opportunities a conversation might lead to.

Thank You Awesome Sponsors!

This year’s generous support by our sponsors has once again made WordCamp Atlanta affordable to many people in the WordPress community. For just $25/day our attendees gain insight from our speakers, network with others, and learn more about the mission of WordPress: to democratize publishing through Open Source, GPL software.

We’re fortunate to have sponsors who understand the value of contributing to the community by focusing on sharing knowledge.

Please visit each sponsor and thank them personally, both at WCATL and on social media. To learn more about our sponsors, visit our sponsor page.

2019 Take-Aways That You Can’t Miss!

It’s a guarantee that you’ll take something away from your WordCamp experience. The amount of information coming at you throughout the weekend will fill up your brain and your bag to the brim.

It’s helpful to put some intention towards what you would like to get out of the event. Our intention here is to give you an idea of what you can expect this year, as well as some ideas and insights for managing your physical and mental capacity.

Enjoy the Food

The Loudermilk Center is a wonderful venue for WordCamp. It’s big enough to handle all 650 of our new friends, but intimate enough that we’re not getting lost inside of a massive conference center.

Perhaps even better is their food. When you arrive each morning, we’ll have freshly brewed coffee and assorted herbal teas available to you. We also provide you with a delicious lunch each day plus morning snacks.

Chicken wraps on a tray

When you registered for WordCamp, you indicated your meal preference and we have you covered. If you chose a vegetarian option, we’ll have those available to you. Please do your best to stick with your chosen food option so that we have the right amounts available for everyone, and please only take one main lunch item on your way through the line to ensure plenty of food for all.

Come ready to learn, and we’ll make sure to keep you well fed!
